The Lowell Police Department reports that Sovandara Khiaosoth, 29, of Lowell, has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred on Lilley Avenue in Lowell on Friday evening.
On March 10, 2023, just after 10:30 p.m., Lowell Police officers responded to multiple calls for gunshots and a person down on Lilley Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and began rendering medical aid. The victim was transported to a local hospital then, subsequently, to a Boston area hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Detectives from the Lowell Police Criminal Investigations Bureau began actively investigating the shooting. As the investigation continued, detectives from the Lowell Police Criminal Investigations Bureau identified Mr. Khiaosoth as the alleged shooter and placed him under arrest on March 11th.
He is charged with Armed Assault with Intent to Murder, Possession of a Firearm Without a License, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Discharging a Firearm Within 500 Feet of a Dwelling, A&B Dangerous Weapon Serious Bodily Injury, and A&B Dangerous Weapon to wit Firearm.
