LOWELL — Superintendent Greg Hudon is pleased to report that the Lowell Police Department organized movie nights at eight of the city’s elementary schools in partnership with Lowell Public Schools and Parent Teacher Organizations.

Lowell Police worked with individual PTO’s at each of the eight schools to provide screen setup, popcorn, drinks, candy, and special guest appearances from characters as they screened the holiday classic “The Grinch” for elementary school families.

Lowell Police Officers made special guest appearances as Santa, the Grinch, and Cindy Lou-Who during the screenings.

Screenings were held throughout the month of December at the Bailey, Greenhalge, Reilly, Morey, Shaughnessy, Lincoln and Pawtucketville Memorial Elementary schools, as well as at the STEM Academy.

“These movie screenings were a great opportunity for us to have some fun and to experience positive interactions with youth and families this holiday season,” said Superintendent Hudon. “I hope everyone who attended enjoyed and that we can hold similar events like this in the future. Our officers had a ton of fun and we hope all the families did as well.”
